Is this a Mortal Sin?

If any of our UK members get a chance to try it out, can they give me some feedback on it here please?

It's not going to be marketed in Ireland. I find that a bit bloody odd, to say the least...

Not wanting to give the impression that I am the type of person that can't cope with change, the kind of traditionalist that demands that beer should come in barrels and not kegs - you get the picture -

When I was young, so much younger than before, I used to drink in a Wilson's house. It's the only time I've drunk anything red; to quote Monty Python, bleeding Watney's Red Barrel. This wasn't in Torremolinos, you understand, but that splendid costa suburbia that is Wythenshawe, and in a public hostelry that no longer exists.

I was young, and knew no better. Wythenshawe was young then also.

Guinness should know better, but no doubt it will sell well if the falvour is okay. They will probably churn it out by the riverload, sell it heavily iced - as if real beer should ever be anything except lukewarm. Damn the lager brigade...with apologies to any that I might offend.

No chance mate and it's not just English pubs. Some of the balls'd up concoctions I've had served to me as Guinness here in Ireland would make you hair stand on end and your fingernails cry...

The only red drink I ever consumed was accidental experimentation. Someone else suggested it to me in a pub in Cumbernauld, my cousin I think. It was called a Strawberry Homicide. A cocktail is a polite description of this monstrosity. It had equal parts; brandy, vodka and dark rum, Britvic 55, blackcurrant cordial, ice and came in a half pint glass. It nearly killed me. Well, 4 of them nearly killed me. Got into a fight outside the bar. Got hassled by the cops. Got a slap off my uncle and a fecker of a hangover the next day. Not a strawberry in sight ...

I've bought them a few times for friends since. Wouldn't you imagine an experience like this would serve to steer me away from booze? Nope. Even lastnight I was on whiskeys. A mate called by and he had a bottle of Canadian Club. I'd never drank it before. I'm not sure I will again. Phoned the_leander and probably did-his-head-in. Positively lethal hangover here.

Last red drink I had was a cinnamon laqueir called Aftershock. Tasted like a chemical mess rather then anything drinkable.

Vile, horrid stuff...

And very popular over here.

Will be interesting to see what this new stuff is like though.

That stuff should be banned. I agree, it is a vile tasting chemical mess, something akin to waste products from Dupont or ICI.

You of course have completely forgotten to mention the other side-effect of it dude. It makes you look like a plastic woman. Mwahahahaha ...

According to Mr. Hughes aka Sean Óg it was released here, or something similar to it was a few years back. Perhaps when the whole world rallied against globalisation, the riots that broke out in Dublin were because of this.
