Conveyances and Licences

Post by Doiremick »

This next section will cover one of the next major types of contracts that you will encounter, most people will know what I'm talking about straight away but because the way the system is set up they won't do this...I already have and I'll also explain what happened.

A licence as basic defined is a permit to do an activity that must be legal to do so without licence i.e you cannot get a licence to kill (formally :P)

So what is a conveyance and how does it tie in to licences? A conveyance is a privately owned form of transport, not registered hence the privately owned bit, using the most common type of transport a car as an example you will notice if you look at most of them that they have a number plate, this is the cars registration number for the DVA, in the first page of the registration manual for the DVA it says "The registered owner of the vehicle is not nessicarily the legal owner" check it out yourself, I'll also post a pic of this when I get a camera. So when you have a car with a number plate like iui **** then your not the legal owner of the car even if your the registered owner and that's from their own mouth. Because of this you have to be licenced to drive this car as you don't own it and it's one of their legal (owner) requirements along with car tax and MOT. If however you unregistered your car then you would own it legally and lawfully to do with as you please, you must have insurance though how you do that is also simple but overlooked all the time, you can with an insurance company insure a car using not the number plate but the chasis number or engine number instead, depending on the company and if your paying cash it ranges from 1 week contracts to whole year contracts. To conclude what's been written, you don't have to register your car to be able to drive it, you don't need a licence to be able to drive it but you must have insurance.
