Dads are a special part of us and what we become. The love, guidance and strength they provide in a childs life is immeasurable.

There is not a person on this earth that would come close to take the place of my dad.

I hope all you dads know how important you are to your children and wish you all a 'Happy Fathers Day'.

Thanks Jo...

I had a good old chat with my Dad on the phone earlier tonight. He's got a really sharp wit and we were laughing our heads off, talking about the Coen Brothers' film; Big Lebowski.

My Dad (probably) holds the record for the most piano lessons ever. He started when he was eleven. Had a break for the war... and is still going aged ninety. He'll get it right one of these days. :D

My dad being welsh and from a musical family made sure that we all learnt to play an instrument.
I had guitar and violin lessons, and my brothers had violin and piano lessons. I was crap, couldn't wait to get out and play.

I ended up as a side drummer in the Dagenham girl pipers (I normally keep that one quiet) and drove everyone mad. Can still do the highland fling.

I have since bought our piano back last year and hope to learn to play someday.

I do love my piano, we had so much fun with it as kids.

Now its far from a statement of comfort when kids come round and all want to play at the same time. Its braindamage, but how can you stop kids wanting to play (shame more don't nowdays).
