Garlic and MRSA

The other day I read that a london university was carrying out some research into the use of garlic medication for MRSA patients.

I'm all for natural medication (some are far more effective) rather than chemicals.

How often do GP's prescribe Marmite to reduce the risk of getting malaria. http://health.allrefer.com/news/index.php?ID=5861

Marmite... Yuk..!

Feck. I must be a mosquito

All joking aside. Nature is the greatest source of healing I know of too. There's marijuana for instance. Just check out our film; Healing Herbs.

Here's one for you although it's not strictly medical. Pestered by flies but hate using flysprays? Place the herb:- rosemary all around your home, on shelves, worktops, window sills etc... It seems to work as a deterrent to flies and wasps and they sod off out the nearest exit... Apparently it badly affects their eyes. Basil, cloves, mint or orange peel also work. Makes your home smell nice too

Cheers Lugh, I will try that.

I can't use fly sprays or oven cleaner because of asthma. I am scared of Wasps (and Bees) because they can cause Anaphylactic shock for me and I never remember to carry my epi-pen.

Rosemary is also good if you microwave it in a bowl of water then let the steam freshen the kitchen to get rid of smelly cooking. :D

Instead of oven cleaner, I use bicarbonate of soda mixed into a paste. Its not as easy as oven cleaner but it works and its far cheaper.

That's a great idea for scenting the place. I'll definitely get loads of rosemary and microwave it mate. Nice one...

Oven cleaning (AGGGGGH...!!!). I hate that job. I pay a pal of mine (Eileen) to do it and the whole flat gets blitzed once a month...

Jo. Have you considered writing to Dear Aunt Sensi with house-keeping questions? I hear she's absolutely diabolical but funny in her replies...

Ahhh, men eh. Getting a spring clean once a month, I would love to find some-one that would do my housework to the same standard as me.

I just remembered this about grapefruit http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/FS088
I used to take grapefruit with an antihistamine to increase the dose (very dangerous) and stupid but it worked for me. The drug is not prescribed much now because it caused a couple of people to have a heart attack a few years back.

Another is cranberry juice and warfarin. http://www.prevention.com/article/0,577 ... -1,00.html

I have spoken to several people at work about this and they never knew about it so, how many patients don't know? It is now in the British National Formulary and hopefully more GP's and Nurses will advise elderly people of the dangers.

I wouldn't take the risk of larium!

I know there are lots of scumbags that would risk people's health for profits but, that goes for various practitioners.
Personally I would take my chances with marmite (I Love it) and mossie nets. Prevention is always better than cure, eh.

I read a report last week by the BMA that said there was a big increase in malaria because people were using various herbal remedies nowdays instead of the prescription drugs. Makes you think.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Never, ever, go on holidays without an Uzi. Mosquitoes are terrified of machine guns...

The MP5 takes up less luggage space, but I suppose the Uzi's hand to hand loading action is very useful when you're drunk. Good chioce Lugh.

Aye, and if you're schmokin' continental cigarettes (a hobby of mine), it makes a lovely sound in hotel foyers when you don't want to pay any bills.

Of course, I realise fully that's not everyone's cup of tea and some people prefer house bricks wrapped in funny messages. Either way, the mosquitoes don't attack which is a result...

Don't think that I don't know what you've been up to. You've been up the distillery again, haven't you?

 Yes, but I'm in denial so, no...

Tell ye what though. Here's a quote from that link you've posted:-
BBC NEWS wrote:Local residents said up to 35 nationalist youths armed with bricks and golf clubs attacked vehicles and shouted abuse at 0500 BST.
He had it coming. What sort of name is '0500 BST'..? :?

For the record Spacecadet, I'm far removed from that sort of mindless and retarded thuggery.

I find it hard to believe that people fought and died with each other in battles over equality or identity with Britain or Ireland. Now it's on the way and it's gonna get smashed up by demented little shitheads with no political awareness or real understanding of all that came before them, or what their actual goals are.

Muppets (on all sides) ..!
BBC NEWS wrote:DUP assembly member Diane Dodds said people in the area were being victimised.

"There is a constant campaign of sectarian hatred carried out against the community in Suffolk," she said.
Typical Northern Irish politician..! More concerned with problems facing people living in the safety of the English Home Counties. She should focus more on Ireland.

Oi..! Diane! Pla the game luv..!

Dear oh dear...

I saw the brick, read the word "Bushmills" and immediately thought of yourself. Can't think why....

Odd. Neither can I

(Joking)

Are you still riding the motorbike, doing the odd spot of joinery, missile smuggling, time travelling and swiping beer out the trays under the pumps?

Do you still have that picture of the brick message on your domain D? If you do, could you post in the link mate, please?
