The Kremlin Remains Silent...- Russian author and journalist; Anna Politkovskaya aged 48, a mother of two, was murdered on Saturday outside her apartment in Moscow. She has been a vocal opponent of President Vladimir Putin and recently she had been working on an piece about torture in Chechnya for her newspaper Novaya Gazeta.

Politkovskaya is one of twelve journalists to be murdered in the past six years in Russia. Read the full story here.
