I was making like Slash in the video,
Les Paul heavier by the minute,
silverburst beneath my fingers
a throb of screaming pain
and anxiety in every note -
would I make the stream of light this time?

I was stalking the stage like Kossoff
and it's all right now, spot
hot as God and fixing this butterfly,
pinning me in place. Sweat dripping,
and the amp jacked up high on reverb.

I was Blackmore, I was Clapton, King, Moore
I took my turns trying on every persona,
every lick a personal disgrace.
I was a triumph, I was the triumph
heavier than hell, and louder than
Zarathustra's fugue.

This one gets a massive 'thumb's up' from me. Not just because it's a great poem, but because it's about air - guitarists / guitarists everywhere...

Sometimes, even the neighbours need waking up...

And I only have a little valve amp - peavey 30 watt. Used to have a 50 watt thing that was nicked along with my les paul - but this is a better amp though the fender that I currently us is crap compared to the Gibson.

I really must sort out the home made plank thing...
