Mirror Poems

Post by Catherine Edmunds »

What do we think? Is this a valid form, or merely a way of writing a poem in half the length of time it would normally take? Here's my one and only attempt at the form.

go to sleep
waking is too sad for words
memories prise open doorways
close them
please
close them
memories prise open doorways
waking is too sad for words
go to sleep

OMG, that's absolutely brilliant Delph. Both as a poem and as an example of the musicality of poetry as well.

Sorry, I haven't got any further comments on this piece for now, but rest assured, it has impacted on me and I will definitely explore this form too.

Thanks for sharing...
